Written and recorded by the iconic alto saxophonist Charlie Parker, Au Privave takes on a whole new meaning with original new lyrics. This arrangement is the perfect vehicle for improvisation because of the 12-bar blues form, and also allows for a featured solo singing a vocalese to Parker’s improvised solo. A really fun and exciting soli shout section punctuates the transition between the vocalese and the final statement of the melody (with a fun harmonic twist).
